NIRSA 2023 PIttsburgh
Partnering to Help Advance Your Education
NIRSA is offering Continuing Education Units (CEUs) that will apply towards a new certification recently formed by the Higher Education Consortium for Student Affairs Certification. The consortium was established through the partnership of seven student affairs professional associations.
The CEUs that NIRSA is offering will contribute towards your completion of the Certified Student Affairs Educator and Campus Recreation Certification (CSAE). The credit calculation for sessions is:
- 100 minutes = 2.0 credits
- 75 minutes = 1.5 credits
- 50 minutes = 1.0 credits
- 25 minutes = 0.5 credits
All CEU credits will be awarded in 0.5 credit increments only, rounding down. (Example: a 70-minute program is worth 1.0 credit, not 1.5) Breaks may not count toward CEU credit. Please note, the new certification refers to CEUs as CE credits.
For Presenters
For your session to be considered eligible for CEU credits, you must upload written materials into your speaker portal which attendees may access. There are additional criteria which must be met as well and will be determined by NIRSA Staff upon review of your proposal application materials.
For Attendees
NIRSA will keep a record of attendees at CEU eligible sessions and the credits awarded by use of feedback surveys for at least five calendar years post-event. So, be sure to complete the survey in Pheedloop upon the conclusion of the session. You will be provided with a document indicating your completion of credits, which will include important information needed should you pursue completion of the certification. While NIRSA collects this information, you are encouraged to keep a personal record of the sessions you attended during Annual Conference for backup.
