NIRSA 2025 Orlando
Accessibility
NIRSA strives to offer every attendee a welcoming and inclusive conference experience. To help us make sure that we—NIRSA and our conference partners—can facilitate this on site, please email the NIRSA Professional Development Staff, if you think you might require accommodations beyond what you have commonly found available at past NIRSA (or comparable) conferences. If you don’t have past conference experience to reference, send us an email or give us a call at 541-766-8211—when in doubt, please reach out.
Wheelchair Accessibility
- NIRSA is focused on ensuring that all aspects of the conference are accessible to everyone. An ADA counter will be provided at registration, and elevators will be available throughout the resort and convention center.
- Transportation
- ADA-regulated buses with ramps will be available for the preconference tours. When you register, please indicate that you have an accommodation request so we can ensure we have a transportation source that meets your needs.
- All NIRSA education sessions are wheelchair accessible and the stage in the mainstage ballroom will have a wheelchair-compatible lift. The education session rooms do have a raised stage so any presenter with a physical disability who will need assistance getting onto the stage should contact [email protected] so we can make the appropriate accommodation.
Neurodivergent and Hearing Impaired
- NIRSA strives to be inclusive to all. We will provide speakers with the ability to present information to the benefit of all attendees.
- There will be a handheld or lavalier mic available in all education sessions to ensure everyone is able to hear the presentation.
- For those who struggle with dyslexia or have reading difficulties, we encourage all presenters to use either Arial, Monserrat, Helvetica, or Courier font for their presentation materials.
- We encourage speakers to use the NIRSA-branded slides and to be aware of the colors they use on their slides to better assist those who may struggle with color blindness.
Sensory Friendly Spaces
- The Wellness Lounge is intended to foster the physical, emotional, and mental wellbeing of attendees. It will focus on supporting attendees to calm themselves; it will allow an individual to decompress if they feel at risk of becoming over-stimulated.
- Flashing Images
- NIRSA does not display flashing lights or images during any of the featured events like general sessions. Video content shown in exhibitor booths or outdoor lighting during socials may feature flashing images.
