NIRSA 2025 Orlando

The NIRSA Conference and Campus Rec Expo is enhanced every year thanks to the generous contributions of time and talent from our incredible members. Returning volunteers are familiar with the benefits of volunteering, but those new to offering their service at the NIRSA Conference might be surprised to discover that volunteering enhances not only the experience of those they assist but their own as well. We are deeply grateful to those who dedicate their time and skills to helping shape the NIRSA Conference experience that we all cherish, and we invite you to join us!

Session Hosts

Introduce speakers as they begin their sessions, while helping NIRSA keep count of attendance. Check the Sessions Overview page to view our session schedule for the year and sign up to host the ones that interest you the most! The official schedule of sessions is coming soon! Until then, sign up for an ed session block here, and we’ll reach out to you when the schedule is posted.

Campus Rec & Wellness Expo

Tasks vary but typically involve support in the NIRSA booth, Fitness Forum, and other expo hall activities. Duties may include handing out the attendee giveaway, assisting the emcee, monitoring the Fitness Forum, and helping with other attendee activities in the Expo.
This year, we’re introducing a new volunteer opportunity as an Exhibitor Excellence Evaluator! As a “secret shopper” in the Campus Rec Expo, you’ll play a key role in helping NIRSA recognize and celebrate exhibitor excellence. As you visit exhibitor booths in this role, quietly assess features like booth design, attendee engagement strategies, giveaways/swag, and overall impact. Your feedback helps NIRSA highlight exhibitor features that attendees value most and will be used to recognize outstanding exhibitors after the event. Your insights will inspire future exhibitors to elevate their booth design and engagement strategies, contributing to a dynamic and high-quality tradeshow experience for all.

Career Services Center

• Resume Reviewer: Help attendees edit their resumes and work with them to craft a compelling CV

• Mock Interviewer: Use our provided set of interview questions or riff with your mock interviewee to help them gain valuable interview practice

Registration Table

Meet and greet conference attendees as they check in, answer questions, and help assemble/distribute registration materials at the NIRSA Registration Booth.

NIRSA Foundation

• Table/Apparel Sale Attendant: Help collect and organize donated apparel, manage the apparel area, assist with sales, and provide general support. Responsibilities also include setup and teardown, accepting donations, and distributing ribbons.

• Golf Tournament Volunteer: Assist with the registration table, act as a course monitor, hand out swag bags, attend the drink cart, take payments for games, and gift pull for winners

• Foundation Big Dill Pickleball Tournament Volunteer: Assist with tourney set up, site monitoring of the 4 courts, score input, updating the playoff bracket, educating participants on rules, and enforcing rules.
